I, inspired….(my first blog post)

When it comes to the word inspiration the first thing that comes to my mind is a novel named “Unnikuttante Lokam” written by Nanthanar. This one’s a children’s literature………

I don’t know how many times I have read the book, may be 20 … I don’t know…………..

Many might think what’s that inspiring in a book, that too a children’s literature…..???

This book is about a four year old boy named Unnikuttan who grows up in typical Kerala village. To precisely say, its about how sees the world around him..

Now.. That’s nothing new…..there may be thousands of books on how a child sees the world…….

but sorry my friend…. I hadn’t read many at that time….and it wasn’t the story that attracted me…..it was the way it was written that inspired me to develop an ability……which is one I hold close to my heart…..I know its not of any use to others and to a larger extend me……but it still sometimes turns out to be funny and largely helpful……..

well, the first time , I read this book, I was studying in class 4. I would say a bit young to read that book…with the language which is of northern Kerala which at that time I wasn’t familiar with…..I had to take a lot of help from my mother and grandmother to proceed with it….

(come on your deviating from the topic……!@)

Ah, yes but still when you want to say something you have to tell the whole thing…

The whole book is divided into three parts…

  • Unnikuttante oru divasam…(unnikuttan’s one day)
  • Unnikuttan schoolil..(unnikuttan in school)
  • Unnikuttan valarunnu…(unnikuttan is growing)

Now, the most attractive part of the book was the first one…120 pages!!!…a single day in a boy’s life is explained in these pages…….so I hope now you can imagine how deep into details the author must have gone to do this…..and you never get bored  reading this book…..and that’s the beauty….!!

Unnikuttan talked to the world around him, to the plants, birds …everything…

Each moment he learned something new….his attitude towards people changed in the span of seconds…….and thus goes the story during whose course unnikuttan starts realizing what the world around him actually is……that it is not full of good people and all that……..in the same way all of us have grown up…..realising the world around us and ourselves…………………

NOW THE INSPIRATION PART……

When I said the author has gone into the minutest details…..he has done it 100%….. or the maximum one can go to……. This may sound rubbish to you…..but think deeply…….if you can, just try reading this book…..and see how deep and extensive he has gone…..he has not only explained the details of what matter he focuses on,…..but also on what’s happening around……..and that too of no importance on what’s being discussed…

Each and every one of us does a million things at the same time…..the thing is that we never realize….we pay attention to many a things at the same time….but we prioritize things so that we feel like we see only one thing at a time….. But ask yourself the next time you’re listening to a lecture……..!!

Hey, who’s murmuring at the back??

Doesn’t the teacher look good in that sari…????

Is her handwriting better than mine…..??? etc etc etc………..

It’s just because that you’re trying hard to concentrate in the class that you don’t feel it….. (hey!..i am talking about the first benchers……he he…..: )

And yes….!! Concentration does help…….!….but come on…..when you are relaxing try looking around you and register what all questions comes into your mind….( if possible……not in the class…!!) its interesting to see how wild our mind travels…..

Well, now you may be thinking…….what ability is this girl talking about……???

Now,…..we all watch movies….but what we concentrate on is just on the actors…….

Next, time when you see a movie you have already seen, try to see what’s happening in the background…..you’ll see a lot many funny things…..

I’ll tell you one example….

You might have seen the movie “DIL CHAHTA HAI”..or at least the song..”WOH LADKI HAIN KAHAN…!”from it….So, the next time you see the song especially  the last part where the hero and heroine is sitting among the audience…..try to focus on the man with the red t-shirt…look at his actions and  you will see that his a bit different from the way the people sitting with him are moving their hands…..!!

Well, it was unnikuttante lokam, which was my inspiration to start looking at things at a wide angle, with a different perspective and concentrate on things that usually go unnoticed…..

This isn’t such a big thing…..I do understand…….

But you know what…..if you start observing things this way…(seeing what’s happening in the background…:)……at some point or other its more than enough to cheer you up when you are in some little sorrow,..to deviate your troubled mind ,to bring a smile on your face and tell your friends too ..Let them also smile…: )……
